Ricardo is an Italian, born in and raised in Brazil. He is a human rights lawyer by training and worked for many years in the United Nations where he acquired vast experience in grant writing for peacekeeping missions, humanitarian responses and development projects around the world. His journey in the UN allowed him to live in Colombia, Timor-Leste, New York, Afghanistan and the Democratic Republic of Congo where he embraced the passion for the use of arts for community development. To nurture his knowledge in using the arts as a human rights empowerment tool and to unite his passions for arts and international development, he pursued a masters degree in Arts Administration and cultural policies from Goldsmiths, University of London in 2017/2018. During his tenure in London, he worked with an applied theatre company that produced theatre with people recovering and living with addiction and with a few west end musical productions. Before moving to Australia with his spouse, he worked for UNESCO, where he developed the cultural sector and development Culture 2030 indicators . In his spare time, Ricardo enjoys training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, swimming and playing the Piano, as well as going to the theatre, which is his greatest passion in life!
