Natalie Petrellis

2023 Hansen Graduate Designer

Natalie Petrellis is currently finishing her second year of the Master of Production Design at The Victorian College of the Arts. Majoring in set and costume design for stage, Natalie is interested in telling stories through design. Her final project for this course will be the set design for ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ opera this December. This year she designed costume for First Love is the Revolution and An Unseasonable Fall of Snow, as well as costume for a film called Mute.

Additionally, after researching sustainable and environmentally friendly design practices, Natalie interned with Dr Tanja Beer and Polyglot theatre, to learn about the biophilic design of When the World Turns. She also recently completed a set design internship with Emily Collett on Emilia. Natalie currently works at the Arts Centre Melbourne as a Wardrobe Technician and has worked with the Australian Ballet and the Wild Rice theatre company.
