Starting out ballet and tap classes at the age of 3 and taking lessons in piano, violin and voice soon after. I performed in my first musical at the age of 6, a pantomime that opened my eyes to the world of performance and theatre.
I then spent most days engrossed in practice and play. I was able to express my creative flame and love for performance in both amateur and professional theatre. I got to perform in Annie at the Regent Theatre and The King and I at the Princess. I then moved to the TV space with my role on ABCME’s Little Lunch. These experiences meant that as I grew, I saw this world of this profession of creation, costume, production, props and design that was intriguing and bold.
My time with HongDe was spent as a teammate and a leader, the collaborative nature of Lion and Dragon dance is paramount to its success, similar to theatre.
I currently am a practicing performer, Chinese long ribbon fan dance as well as sword dance, this has allowed me opportunities to choreograph and teach.
Throughout my time as a performer my passion for design only grew, spare moments always spent with my sketch book or with a sewing needle.
As an artist I now draw from my perspectives as an actor, dancer, musician and teammate.
