Ben Ellis
Ben Ellis’s work for theatre encompasses work in the UK, US and Australia over two decades: Falling Petals, directed by Tom Healey at Playbox/Malthouse, Kafka’s Metamorphosis (Malthouse); Headlong’s Decade, directed by Rupert Goold, London; The Armour, a site-specific piece written for the Langham London. Other plays include The Captive (Finborough), Unrestless (Old Vic Tunnels) both directed by John Kachoyan, and The Final Shot (Theatre 503), which starred Susannah York in one of her final roles. Eighty-Eight was shortlisted for the 2008 Bruntwood Prize (UK), and he has also been awarded the Patrick White Playwrights Award and Wal Cherry Play of the Year in Australia. He has just been made the first resident playwright at Sixteenth Street.
